Responsibilities
Role of the Student:
- Commit to regular and continued study
- Take responsibility for their learning success
- Fulfill requirements in the time period agreed upon
- Communicate problems and concerns to teachers and/or parents
- Complete assignments to the best of your ability and ask questions when you don't understand something
- Work with your parents and teachers to develop a learning plan
- Be an educational risk taker and endeavor to be an effective problem solver
Role of vLearn.ca Staff
- Ensure program meets prescribed Provincial curriculum
- Determine course placement
- Supervise student's educational program
- Support student learning success
- Provide curricular learning resources
- Assess and report on student progress
- Create and monitor appropriate course pacing
- Maintain regular contact to ensure student success
- Provide, develop and adapt curriculum
Role of the Parent(s)
- Support student success and facilitate the learning process
- Inform staff of problems with progress or curriculum
- Maintain regular contact with Distributed Learning staff
- Work with your child to develop organizational strategies that ensure student success
- Provide positive feedback and encouragement as well as constructive criticism
- Work with vLearn.ca staff to continually monitor student progress
- Plan educational program with student's main school (school where majority of courses are taken)
