Formal assessment for students in grades 8-12 takes place 3 times per year.
Provincial Exams are required for all students beginning in grade 10. Grade 10 students must write provincial exams in Math, English and Science. In grade 11 they must write Social Studies 11. In grade 12 students must write English 12 and may elect to write other senior provincial exams available. If a student is capable it is highly recommended that they write all provincial exams available for the subject they have enrolled in.
